be2camp east event

Next Event 24th June 2010- Half day from 2-6pm

be2campeast logoWe have completely changed how we run our events by teaming up with a much larger event called Be2camp.

Be2camp are revolutionising how we network so that we can all get greater benefit from much better contacts. Be2Camp stands for "Social Media In The Built Environment."

My Property Mentor will run Be2campEast events bi-monthly which will be held at Essex County Cricket Ground in Chelmsford. The event is basically an amalgamation of how social media is changing the way we do business in the 'built environment.' Our ethos is to extend the quality of your contacts - true networking.

Be2camp aims to bring together people interested in using social media (aka Web 2.0) to help discuss, collaborate, plan, design, construct and manage a better, more sustainable built environment. In Be2camp events the content delivered is partly the result of:

be2campEast events are daytime, free to attend, usually with refreshments included
be2campEast the formal roles of organisers, speakers and audience are deliberately eroded
be2campEast participants contribute comments, photos, video, blog posts, before, during and after event
be2campEast presentations and ad hoc contributions are captured as knowledge to be shared
be2campEast involvement extends to people watching, listening/ reading about event via internet-even months later.
be2campEast events are live steamed and twittered out on the day by organisers and attendees
be2campEast there is a STRICT no 'selling to the audience' policy the speakers adhere to
be2campEast discussion and collaboration beforehand by participants as to topics covered

Treehouse Campaign

We Are Supporting A Worthy Cause Too!

EACH treehouse appeal logoAdded to that, the event is connected to the EAST Treehouse charity appeal (http://www.each.org.uk/treehouse)

The appeal is trying to raise £3 million before Xmas to build a hospice for life threatened children in Essex and East Anglia.

We are proud to be helping this very worthwhile cause to raise much needed funds. If you follow us on twitter you will see that we spearheaded a viral campaign with the help of some other folks for @PaulWeston33.

If you have not heard of Paul, you should take a look at his very inspiring blog describing his job hunt which he started via his Twitter friends. I am personally very proud to have started him off using social media in his search to get a job. ( Which he has achieved in less than a month with a lot of help from his friends!) Paul has since been featured on BBC Essex radio- all because of Twitter and blogging.
